ULTRA PRO Dry Screed System

ULTRA PRO Dry Screed System

ULTRA PRO™ is the brand of low profile, dry screed systems manufactured from a high performance, non-flammable Fermacell Gypsum Fibreboard. The ULTRA PRO™ range offers various panel specifications depending on the project design requirements but all specifications comprise of 18mm thick castellated panels that have been designed to accommodate a 12mm diameter underfloor heating pipe at 150mm pipe spacing’s.

ULTRA PRO™ 60 and ULTRA PRO 80-S/120-S

The ULTRA PRO™ 60 panel is manufactured with a circular grooved design that can be installed across the entire surface area of the floor making it ideal where there is a requirement for complex pipe layouts or alternatively they can be laid in conjunction with the ULTRA PRO 80-S (600mm x 800mm) or 120-S (600mm x 1200mm) straight grooved panel to create single pipe runs over long straights with the ULTRA PRO™ 60 panels used solely for the purpose of forming the returns.

Panel Options:

ULTRA PRO 60

ULTRA PRO 80-S / 120-S

ULTRA PRO™ 18

If it’s an all-in-one solution that you require then the ULTRA PRO 18 panel is the answer. These standard sized 600mm x 1200mm overlay panels provide a single board solution with a combination of multiple straight grooves along the length of the panel, multiple straight grooves across the width of one end of the panel for supply and return pipes to the manifold and finally a return groove profile for forming single pipe meanders.

The ULTRA PRO system is suitable for use with various floor finishes but consideration should be given to the expected point loading on the floor and also the impact on the thermal benefit of underfloor heating. It is recommended that a thin separating layer such as a 6mm plywood or cement-based board is installed over the ULTRA-PRO panels particularly where soft floor finishes such as carpets or vinyl’s are to be laid.

If the ULTRA PRO system is to be installed in areas to be carpeted then in addition to installing a thin overlay, you should also consider the combined properties of the carpet and underlay. A thicker pile carpet will have more of an impact on the efficiency and thermal benefit of the underfloor heating due to its higher TOG value. Ask your carpet supplier or the manufacturer for the TOG value of their product. To achieve the optimum performance it is recommended that the combined resistance of the carpet and underlay should not exceed 0.15m²K/W, which is equal to 1.5 TOG.

For reference 1 TOG = Thermal Resistance of 0.1 m²K/W
